The United States Bowling Congress, Boardwalk Bowl and the city of Orlando are counting down the days until the world's best youth bowlers converge on the Sunshine State!

The World Tenpin Bowling Association has selected the United States to host the 2008 World Youth Championships, the first time the tournament for elite international youth bowlers will be held in this country.

"The United States Bowling Congress is pleased to have the opportunity to host the 2008 World Youth Championships," USBC Chief Executive Officer Roger Dalkin said. "This event reinforces our emphasis on growing youth in our great sport and demonstrates to the world the importance this country places on the next generation of bowlers."

The World Youth Championships (for national junior team members age 23 or younger) is contested biannually, with the first event held in the Philippines in 1988.
